Life is unpredictable

By Noor-ul-ain Hanif

Life is unpredictable,
Life is unreliable.

It hurts and gives us more pain,
When everything is moving plain.

Life is a bunch of roses,
But it’s not a bed of roses.

It is a long path of bitter thorns,
Those are waiting for us to move on.

It always smells sweet but
Nobody knows its true reality indeed.

We are bonded with friends and loved ones,
Life strikes on such connections.

It makes us sadder,
When we see our friends and loved ones in trouble.

And it really makes us helpless
When we see our parents upset!

Davis in Wonderland

Now a day's Raymond Davis is the most hotly debated issue whose real identity is still not being revealed. He is the person who has killed two innocent Pakistani citizens Faizan Haider and Fahim. The wife of Fahim wasn't able to bear the pain of her husband's death and committed suicide. Her last words were "Khoon ka badla khoon". On the other hand, the family members of both the victims are also asking for the blood of Raymond Davis. "We want justice not compensation".
There are many accusations and allegations on Davis but in spite of all the accusations and allegations labeled on him and crimes that Raymond has done, he is GUEST for Pakistan’s government because he belongs from one of the biggest aid giving country, America and no doubt our government is treating him as a royal guest.

Davis in Kot Lakhpat jail or in Wonderland?

It seems that Kot Lakhpat jail is not an ordinary cell for Davis but a wonderland in which he is full time enjoying and doing whatever he wants to do.
According to a report telecasted on Express News:
When Raymond Davis was in Peshawar, he became an addict of niswar. He showed his will for niswar to the jailer in Kot Lakhpat jail but the jailer denied fulfilling the  request of Davis and said, “Any one can mix any thing in niswar so it could be harmful for him”. However, he allowed the chocolates that were sent to Davis by  the US consulate.
Recently, I heard in news that Raymond Davis is on hunger strike because he is not getting his favorite food to eat but the jailer refused and said “Davis is not on any hunger strike” which obviously means that he is getting his favorite feast to eat.
Last week I got a sms in which it was written: “The loud speakers in Kot Lakhpat jail are use to turned off during Azan time because it creates disturbance in comfort of Raymond Davis”
when I share this news with my friend she confirms it and said, “Its was also telecasted on news”
These were the three stories from the movie Davis in wonderland or you can say it is only a trailer picture abhi baki hai mere dost! This movie is not completed yet it’s in progress. Lol jokes apart
Well now a day’s another sms or you can say rumor is circulating from mobile to mobile that is about the real identity of Raymond Davis but his real identity has not been proved till now but it is an alarming situation for Pakistan that why our government is giving such comfort to a killer?.

Ghost management of JUW

By Ayesha Siddiqui, Kiran Ashraf, Noor-ul-ain Hanif

KARACHI, Feb 18: The attraction in JUW is the newly renovated Museum. “The museum is still in progress”, said Mr. Nisar Hussein, the in charge of Jinnah University for women's museum but the progress is still not being witnessed by the students.

Located right next to the common room, The Museum of Jinnah university for women is barely noticeable and the absence of an exterior wall sign is making it more isolated. Previously it was not very well-preserved but recently much progress is being done.

While stepping inside, the empty carton boxes lying around caught our eyes immediately. There were no name tags present on the various animals, half of them weren't situated properly and empty cupboards with chart papers were present. We have reportedly witnessed student taking pictures in different poses which is strictly prohibited and is against the ethics of museum.

“We are not responsible for wrong names and spelling mistakes. It comes under the duty of the in charge” said student of MSc Zoology department. On inquiring, the in charge readily putting the blame on the museum management said, “The preservation of all the stuff inside this museum is the responsibility of administration”. Later we tried but were unable to find the ghost management he referred to.
The Museum of JUW

Student of Zoology 1st year, Anum Tanveer expressed her grievances “They should appoint an instructor who can provide us some relevant information about these animals and specimens because we only know them by name.” Another pupil added that a library is desperately needed so that the students who are from different departments can find some reference materials on the creatures present in the Museum. Students were seen performing experiments in the Museum area which is highly dangerous for Museum’s environment

“We agree with it that the museum is not perfect but we should understand the fact that everything is in progress. Further, there is no need for guidance because students have already put a paper beside every animal in which details are available in written format.” Zoology students said.

Me and my confusions!

There was a great hustle and bustle; the shrilling sounds of car's horns were pouring melted iron in the ears. The crowds of people were present everywhere. The mall was completely jam packed with human beings kids were crying like hungry monsters, aunties where carrying multiple shopping bags. Every single person was taking part in the marathon to look good on Eid day. It was 28th Ramadan-ul-Mubarak and only two days were left in Eid.

Me and my family (mum, sis, bro and sis in law) were also the marathon to finish shopping at the same night. We entered the mall with great effort and successfully stepped inside a shop. According to mum, my shopping was almost complete but for me it wasn’t because I hadn't brought the bag yet.
After exploring the whole mall, visiting almost all the bag's shops I finally stepped inside an elegant shop covering with the curtains of small and large bags I was deciding what bag should I buy? This one, this on or that one watching me confused and dazed my mum ask my sister to help me out. After wasting the precious half an hour of my family and off course mine too I short listed the top three bags, with mutual concern of my sis and sis in law I brought the bag.
As I am a complete whirlpool of confusion next I showed my in born talent in a dress store. At that time I was with my father so with him spending more then 5 mins in a shop is impossible Lol. Because he is a fast forward person his rule is "like it? Then buy it! Don't waste time"
We entered in a shop. My sis selected her dress immediately and I was still checking the dresses. My father asked me to chose a dress with great effort I did it but I was stuck in the color what color should I buy? The blue one or the brown one? At that time I was thinking in mind I should keep paper chits with me but I listened to the voice of my heart and selected the brown one. After giving the stitching order, we were about to leave the shop, I exclaimed "I like the blue one" my father asked me to go out from the shop because he knows as long as I remain in the shop I'll keep changing my selective dress.
It is like my routine I got confused between two things and sometimes more then two. Now days I am facing this problem in selecting background for my poor blog!! I have changed 40 to 50 backgrounds since I've made my blog :( It’s annoying!!

Ghalib in my life...

"Huyi Muddat Ke Ghalib Mar Gaya Par Yaad Aata Hai
Woh Har Ek Baat Par Kahna, Ke Yu Hota To Kya Hota"

I remember the day, when I first met Ghalib. At that time I was too young to understand the true meanings behind his poetry but movies helped me allot to understand them J
When I was in 10th class the bacteria’s of Ghalib's poetry attacked my heart as a result Ghalib phobia start nourishing with in me. It took a new turn, when one of Ghalib's shair added in SRK's movie "Dil se" in song "satrangi re":

"Ishq per zor nahi hai yeh wo aatish Ghalib,
Jo lagaye Na lagay Jo bujhaye Na baney"

With the passage of time our friendship becomes more and more intimate. I prefer Ghalib aashar for explanation as compare to any other poet because I don’t have to think much in writing explanation. “Ess shair mein Ghalib apney mehboob ko mukhatib kertey hoe kehtey hain key…”
Ghalib’s poetry is full of love but he never reveals the name of his beloved. This is the most beautiful element of his poetry. Apart from ghazals, there was a chapter named Khutoot-e-Ghalib it’s was the collection of Ghalib’s letter to his friends, students etc. His letters are as colorful as his poetry. It shows that Ghalib bhut rangein they no doubt he was.
Whether, I was in 10th, 11th or 12th class Ghalib always helped me. There was a permanent question related to Ghalib. “Define Ghalib as poet or write a brief account on Ghalib’s writing style and lastly mandar jab ala aashar ke tasreeh karein”
I used to start any question about Ghalib with this particular shair:

“Hain duiyan mein aur bhe sukhanwar buhut achay
Kehtey hain Ghalib ka hai andaz-e-bayan aur

After clearing my HSC (inter), I thought I’ll never find Ghalib again in my course, with tears filled in my eyes I said farewell to him but sacha pyar juda nahi hota! And luckily as I stepped inside university I found Ghalib’s picture hanging on a wall beside Urdu department and till now it’s my routine to greet him. Whenever I move from that corridor I use say “As salam-O-Alike baba jee J
And my friends use to say “Ager kabhie enhoney jawab dey dia to salaam kerna bhool jaoge” and yeah it’s scary! I have also seen that particular picture once in my dream :D

Kaaba kis muh se jaogay Ghalib,
Key sharam tum ko ate nahi”

This shair is very famous among my friends. Another misra from Ghalib’s poetry added in Bollywood movie sathiya:

“Kehtey hain ishq jisey khalal hai demag ka”

Ghalib is a permanent personality of Urdu language if there is Urdu subject in course then Ghalib must present in it. Ghalib once again entered in my life in 4th semester and once again I open my previous notes to learn his biography but it was somewhere stored in my memory which helped allot. Now, I have cleared my 4th semester and again said farewell to Ghalib but who knows Ghalib is waiting for me somewhere in other subject or course!
Yesterday was the 142nd death anniversary of Ghalib.

“May his soul rest in heaven"
“May his poetries remain part of the syllabus”
 Amen.

Some famous ashaar of Ghalib:

Month of Love

The tender feel of wind touched my cheeks, sweet voice of air whispered in my ears, a mild puff of wind blow my hair!Ahhh a charming smell of spring is also present in the air, love is spreading everywhere! And jingles of celebration are also reverberating everywhere. These all signs are reflecting towards the month of love, February!
For some people, February is the second month of the year but for most of the people it is like a sweet desert that they have been baking since last 11 months and finally the dish is ready to eat. On the other hand, there is another group who don’t wait for the month of February to date but to celebrate. This group includes half Aquarians and half Pieces including me J

What so special about this month’s 13th and 14th?

This month’s 13th is my date of birth and the reason of its celebration is quite clear but the reason of its specialty is private and confidential :P don’t be so suspicious it’s about my age. I don’t want to reveal it J With the ending days of January and with the beginning of February, I am observing flowers, red roses apart from the traditional stuff I’ve observed red carrots in fact I am drinking the red carrot nectar and its yummy, sweet. On 31 January Lux celebrates Purple Lotus Day more over red tomatoes and spring festivals are also started celebrating at many places. It seems the entire material environment plus natural environment is celebrating this year’s Valentine Day.
Let me clear you about this day. Valentine day is not about lovers but also family members you can express your deep love and affection to your family and friends. We remain busy the whole year, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds so this an opportunity for all the sleeping souls wake up and tell your loved ones that how much you love them and clarify the fact that you have not forgotten those moments and people who have bring four starts in your life. Remember you are nothing without your family and friends. You can achieve great triumphs in life but all the achievements are nothing in front of the solacing smile of mother.

Love your family,

Love your friends,

then move for someone else!
