Once again the patriotism is high, the hope and enthusiasm of doing something for nation is present in every soul because today is 6 September, “Defense day of Pakistan”. 6 September is another golden chapter in the history of Pakistan that can’t be neglected.  This day is equivalent to Independence Day, when our enemy India attacked on Pakistan, our soldiers fought with them and saved the country. This war affected both countries financially but none of them could really dominate. As Pakistan remained saved, Defense Day is celebrated on 6th September.
The defense war fought between Indian and Pakistan on Kashmir issue as Kashmir is a princely and Muslim majority state. Both of the countries want to have Kashmir as their part. Despite of the war, the issue remained unsolved but it takes lots of lives and weapons but at last on 6 September the deadly war was ended by the concern and support of UN
Pakistan celebrates Defense day in the memory of the martyrs of the war who was awarded by the Nishan-e-Haider. The day refreshes the feeling of devotion and sacrifice for the country that how our beloved martyrs sacrifice their lives for the country. They left their wives, children, siblings and other family member behind to save motherland. Similarly,  their families are also satisfied and feel proud as they have lost their son, husband, father in the name of Pakistan.
The martyrs include Army officers like Captain Sarwar Shaheed, Major Tufail Shaheed, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed, Major Muhammad Akram Shaheed, Sarwar Muhammad Hussain, Lance Naik Mehfooz Shaheed, Shaheed Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, Captain Karnal Sher Shaheed and Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed who gave their life for the country and awarded with“Nishan-e-Haider” on 6th September, 1965. Nishan-e-Haider is a special award given to the brave officers as a reward for their devotion and bravery.
Nishan-e-Haider is the dream of every soldier. Every jawan wants Nishan-e-Haider to shine on his chest but this reward is awarded to only few soldiers.  These are the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation.  National Hero doesn’t mean,  a soldier fought on border or in a war and lost his life, a person who follows Quaid-e-Azam’s teachings and makes his country proud around the world by his work is a true patriotic hero.. We all can become a hero by working or studying hard to make Pakistan proud!
